Police have made an arrest after a woman allegedly carried a plank of wood onto a school bus and shouted obscene threats. The incident is reported to have happened at 4.30pm on Monday on an Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe bus in Bon-y-maen, Swansea.

Footage of the incident appears to show someone walking down the bus aisle with a plank. A woman can be heard shouting: "Which f***ing one? I've already phoned your teacher ten minutes ago to get the f***ing police here because this bus is on lockdown until I find out which f***ing person it is... Do you want me to get one of the boys down from the boxing gym? Tomorrow we'll be back here. Come on, off you come."

The woman appears to tell the driver: "Control your f***ing passengers mate. I'm telling you now, the next time your bus will be smashed to f***ing pieces." She then appears to address the passengers: "I'm sorry to everyone else who's not involved but you little c***s better sort your f***ing words out."

A South Wales Police spokesman confirmed the force is "investigating a disturbance reported on a school bus". He added: "A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affray and malicious communications and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries."

Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe is a secondary school based in Heol Gwyrosydd, Penlan. A spokesman for the school said: "We are aware of an incident earlier this week on one of our school buses which is being looked at by police. Safeguarding our pupils is our number one priority and we have taken appropriate steps." For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter
