A Swansea nightclub which has been closed since before the Covid pandemic has now re-opened after a £1.3m refit. Former student bar-club Rebound, also known by its event name Tooters and former name Diva's, at Swansea University's Singleton Campus was a must-visit for hundreds of students every Tuesday and Friday night for decades until its shock closure in February 2020.

After four years of closure and more than a year of planning, building, and refurbishment works the club has now re-opened. The newly-named Cove nightclub launched on February 2 and will now be open on select nights each week throughout university term time. For the latest Swansea news sign up to our newsletter here.

The much-needed refurbishment was announced last January. A spokesman for Swansea University's Student Union has now confirmed the reopening of the on-campus venue after what they called a "state-of-the-art refurbishment". They added: "Having served students of Swansea for three decades, and with increased health and safety requirements since the outbreak of Covid-19, there was a need for improvement prior to re-opening.

"As well as upgrades to its lighting and sound systems the refurbishment has seen the installation of brand new ventilation systems in line with new regulations and a reconfiguration of the space to allow for the addition of more welfare facilities including a medic room."
