Holidaymakers from the UK have been warned that trips to Spain and Greece are getting pricier while other destinations are becoming cheaper. The biggest increase was for return flights from the UK to Menorca in Spain, with average flight prices soaring from £178 in 2020 to £291 now, a 63 per cent rise. Trips to Barcelona have also increased by 30 per cent.

Other Spanish locations seeing a price hike include Malaga, up by 28 per cent to £246, and Ibiza Town, up 17 per cent to £213. In Greece, Athens and Mykonos have seen increases of 23 per cent and 22 per cent respectively. Portugal's Faro and Porto have also seen rises, to £234 and £182.

The top 10 is completed by Izmir and Bodrum in Turkey, which have seen increases of 13 per cent and 12 per cent respectively.

Some holiday spots are also getting cheaper. For example, a trip to Funchal in Portugal is now 20% less expensive, down from £259 to £207. In Greece, the cost of visiting Lesbos and Souda has dropped to £21 and £318, from £379 and £364 respectively, a decrease of 13%.

In Spain, a holiday to Tenerife now costs £296, down from £339 - a 13% reduction. Meanwhile, trips to Antalya in Turkey and Lisbon in Portugal have become cheaper by 5% and 3% respectively, with prices now at £248 and £170, down from £235 and £165.
