The Scarlets have signed powerful South African back-rower Jarrod Taylor from the DHL Stormers with immediate effect.
Taylor met up with his new team-mates at Parc y Scarlets on Monday morning having signed a contract for the remainder of the current season and beyond. The Scarlets have struggled for results this season, with many experts singling out the pack as an area in need of improvement which makes Taylor a welcome addition.
A former South African Schools international, Taylor has been playing Currie Cup rugby for Western Province, scoring four tries in six starts. The 22-year-old's primary position is blindside flanker but he can also fill in at No 8.

Taylor has been added to a back-row pool which includes Wales pair Josh Macleod and Taine Plumtree, Dan Davis, Carwyn Tuipulotu, Teddy Leatherbarrow, and former All Black Vaea Fifita who has been linked with a move to Montpellier.
"Jarrod is a player who has impressed us with his performances in the Currie Cup and has an outstanding pedigree in South African schools rugby," said Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel.
“He is an abrasive player, with and without the ball and is strong in the contact area. He will add to the young group of back-rowers we already have at the club.”
