Prom fever is already beginning to sweep through this year's cohort of year 11 high schoolers.
As business is beginning to blossom, one Welsh business has taken the unusual decision to slash its prices for a very heartfelt reason.
Kylie Rose Boutique has been a celebrated name in prom wear over the years, having dressed thousands of customers and worked with many top designers. So why the big change?
Last year, the Cardiff boutique was closed for a premises takeover, and this gave business woman Kylie the idea to open a pop-up discount shop for three months, based at Venue No 1, 995A Carmarthen Road, Swansea.
With more than one thousand dresses heavily discounted, the shop has seen more than a hundred happy prom customers leave with their dream dress in the first month alone.
Kylie's idea is to promote affordability and ease the financial burdens associated with prom. There's no escaping the financial crisis gripping the UK - it's impacting every household in one way or another. The store's affordability factor means that every girl steps through its doors and leaves with their perfect dress. At Kylie Rose Boutique, the ethos is everyone deserves their dream dress and at these prices, how can anyone refuse?
Dresses come in various styles, colours and sizes, so that everyone is catered for.
The shop is situated in the heart of Swansea, run by Kylie Repath and with three members of female staff. These ladies really are passionate about their jobs, and ensure everyone has a magical experience.
Kylie says: "We love our customers, and they are all unique. We love seeing the girls' faces when they find “the one”. It is so rewarding.
"Every one of our customers has looked sensational at their prom. I love our shop, our staff are fantastic. It would have been easy to close after leaving Cardiff, but my girls love their jobs so much none of us wanted to walk away.
"I love keeping local women in work; these are ladies providing for their families and I'm glad we are able to help the community who've supported me in all my years in business."
