Oxfam has announced additional spaces for its volunteers at some of the most popular UK festival this year - including Glastonbury. Last week, the charity opened up its volunteering scheme across fifteen festivals.
In less than fifteen minutes Oxfam said it had already filled the places at Glastonbury, Download, WOMAD, Latitude, Isle of Wight, Wilderness, Leeds and Shambala. But for anyone who missed out, there will be a second chance today (Feb 6).
Taking to its Facebook page on Monday (Feb 5), the charity said: "Exciting Announcement! Tomorrow at 2:15pm, we're launching more stewarding places for the following festivals: Glastonbury, 2000trees, WOMAD, Beautiful Days, Leeds, Shambala. If you missed out last week, now's your chance to grab a spot. But be quick, spaces are limited!"
There are three different roles you can sign up for via Oxfam - including stewarding, shop volunteering, and campaigning. But you have to make sure you’re registered with Oxfam before signing up to volunteer.
To be in with a chance to snag a spot at one of these hotly contested festivals, you need to head to festivals.oxfam.org.uk/. From there, log into your account, pick the festival you want to volunteer at and pay your refundable deposit.
To volunteer for Oxfam you must be 18 years of age on the day you are required to arrive on site for the festival. The deposit will be a one-off and refundable, meaning the price will be equal to the price of the highest festival ticket and is a bond to ensure that volunteers attend and complete their required responsibilities on-site.
One deposit carries you across all the festivals under or equal to that deposit price. If you know you want to sign up for more than one festival, Oxfam recommends choosing the one with the highest deposit first.
Oxfam did not specify how many more volunteering roles would be released, but it'll be based on first come first served. The additional spaces will go live at 2.15pm today (Tuesday, February 6). Visit here for more information.
