The Ospreys have moved their Challenge Cup last-16 clash with Sale Sharks from the Swansea.com Stadium to Bridgend's Brewery Field.

Their knockout match with the Gallagher Premiership outfit will take place on Saturday 6th April at 8pm, with the Ospreys having confirmed the change of venue after positive feedback from their last visit to the Brewery Field.

Despite Swansea City playing away on the same weekend, the Ospreys have still decided to move their knockout fixture against top-class English opposition to the 8,000 capacity Brewery Field. The Ospreys beat Cardiff at the Brewery Field on New Year's Day in front of a capacity crowd.

The Welsh derby generated an electric atmosphere but it wasn't without its problems with the television feed cutting off during the last quarter of the match due to heavy wind and rain. They will now face Sale Sharks in Bridgend in what they hope will be a sell-out crowd.

An Ospreys statement said: "On the back of the positive feedback we received from supporters after we beat Cardiff there, we've decided to go back to the Brewery Field.

"We'll look to not only recreate the electric atmosphere and exceptional rugby that thrilled supporters at our New Year's Day derby, but put on an even better event as we host our opponents from England."

New CEO Lance Bradley confirmed at the start of the month the Ospreys are looking to move away from the Swansea.com Stadium where the Swans hold primacy of tenure. The hope is they can move into a smaller stadium which will create a better atmosphere, and far more importantly will be able to generate non-matchday income for the Ospreys.
