Marks and Spencer is selling a light sleep cream that the store says "helps to make skin look like you've had a full eight hours of sleep." The Sleep & Replenish Light Sleep Cream is made of a lightweight formula that can be layered over a serum or facial oil.

The cream comes in a 50ml pot and costs £22.50, at the time of writing the product has racked up over 40 strong reviews and has a star rating of just over four online. M&S says the cream "contains key ingredients of Olea Vitae™, a cell-reviving plant-based oil, and Matrixyl 3000®, a peptide blend that works to smooth wrinkles and improve tone and elasticity."

A description continues: "Powerful antioxidant niacinamide is known for strong anti-ageing properties, while marula oil has been selected for its fatty acids, which are essential in maintaining healthy skin. This cream helps to keep skin feeling recharged, moisturised and healthy, with visibly improved elasticity."

Reviewing the product, one satisfied shopper wrote: "Great cream for dry skin. It's like a pot of food for the face! I have very dry skin and since I've been using it I find my skin feels moisturised and soft."

While another added: "Love this! Improves and irons out small imperfections makes skin feel fed and nourished. I use as a day cream and not heavy at all," and a third commented: "Been using this since it was launched. The best night cream I've ever used."

The Sleep & Replenish Light Sleep Cream from Marks and Spencer

It's worth noting, however, that some feel the cream is not as good as it used to be, with one writing: "This cream is now called 'light' & it is - not as good as original which was nice & rich, with better results for mature, lined drying skin - please change back to old recipe!!"

As another added: "I got this to try out of interest, but I don't think it's as good as the original Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream. It doesn't plump and refresh my skin as well, and doesn't smell as relaxing for night use. I have been using the original version for some years and will go back to that (if M&S) don't discontinue it!)."

A note about the makeover says online: "We've given Formula a makeover! Meet Formula Sleep and Replenish – this range will give you all the same noticeable age-defying results that you have come to expect from Absolute! This product was previously known as Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream Light and has the same formulation that you know and love, updated with a fresh new look."
