Emergency services have been at the scene of a multi-vehicle accident that closed a main road in Swansea. Traffic monitors are showing that the A4067 Mumbles Road was closed in both directions closed and that traffic is queueing traffic.
At 1pm, a statement from Swansea Council said: "The accident has now been cleared but there's significant congestion on Mumbles Road, Walter Road, Uplands and Fabian Way. Please use other routes if you can."
The road that links the city centre with the Mumbles was closed for more than hour from Brynmill Lane to A4216 Sketty Lane. A statement from South Wales Police said: "We were called to a report of a multi-vehicle collision on Mumbles Road, Swansea at 11am this morning. We are currently in attendance at the scene. Further details will be confirmed as and when appropriate."
Traffic has returned to normal for the time of day by 1.30pm.
'Significant congestion' remains
Swansea Council has issued a 1pm update.
They said: "The accident has now been cleared but there's significant congestion on Mumbles Road, Walter Road, Uplands and Fabian Way. Please use other routes if you can."
Road remains partially blocked
Traffic monitors are showing that that road is now passable in both directions following a closure, but still partially blocked.

First Cymru Buses are also warning of delays to their services because of the accident.

Delays on surrounding routes
Traffic monitors are showing that the eastbound side is now open again with one lane closed, but westbound remains closed.
The closure is also starting to have an effect on the A483 Fabian Way inbound at A4067 Quay Parade.
Delays to bus services
Adventure Travel are warning passengers of delays.
The 14 and 43 services are running delayed, and the 116 service from Mumbles Road to Llanrhidian.

A spokesperson said: "There's been a road accident on Mumbles Road at the junction with Brynmill Lane. Road closed westbound and reduced to a single lane eastbound. Emergency services on the scene. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes."
