Dancing On Ice 2024 returned to ITV on Sunday, February 11, with an announcement. Presenters Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern kicked off Musicals Week by informing viewers there would be a double elimination and a shocking twist.

They revealed that the couple who receives the lowest amount of public votes will be automatically eliminated and will not have the chance to compete in the usual skate-off. The next two couples at the bottom will then battle it out in the skate-off as usual, with another duo being sent home after that.

It comes after Claire Sweeney and Colin Grafton were knocked out of the competition last week, Claire's exit follows on from Hannah Spearritt and Ricky Hatton, who have also left the competition. You can see a full list of those who have been eliminated here.

Those remaining in the competition and at risk of going home tonight are Welsh West End star Amber Davies, Ryan Thomas, Greg Rutherford, Miles Nazaire, Lou Sanders, Ricky Norwood, Adele Roberts, Roxy Shahidi, and Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards. Confirming the news of the double elimination Stephen said: "There'll be more drama than ever before because this week it's a double elimination."

Holly then continued: "That's right and we've got a Dancing On Ice first, at the end of the show the lowest place couple will go straight out of the competition, two more will then face the skate-off."

"To avoid that face they'll need to impress you," Stephen then said before introducing the ice panel, consisting of guest judge Johnny Weir, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean.

Viewers at home were torn by the decision as one wrote: "Double eliminations will put the pressure on everyone, while another added: "Dancing On Ice time! And a double elimination!" For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
