A new light show is coming to Cardiff for Easter 2024. Evolution is an epic drone light show which promises to take audiences on a mesmerising journey through time and space and is taking to the skies above the Welsh capital.

Audiences will be immersed in an epic-scale event using hundreds of drones in the night sky, fusing cutting-edge technology and creativity to spark the imagination. From single-cell organisms, awe-inspiring dinosaurs, and the dawning of modern humans, Evolution is a captivating homage to the past, a celebration of the present, and a glimpse into the horizons of the future.

Light drone displays have become popular over recent years and often feature at events including the London New Year's Eve firework display. The show will be in Cardiff for one night only

The light show is coming to Cardiff's Sophia Gardens and you can buy your tickets, here. Tickets cost £14 for adults and £9 for children and concessions until Friday, March 1 and then they will be £20 for adults and £15 for children and concessions.

Gates will open at 5.30pm, with food and drink outlets serving a variety of tasty treats while a live DJ plays ahead of the show starting at 7.30pm. John Hopkins, Celestial co-founder and chief creative officer, said: "Evolution has been three years in the making. This is so much more than a drone light show, it’s an experience with stadium scale, created to bring audiences together using a new medium to tell the story of time."
