A data widget allows drivers to check the nearby filling stations that offer the cheapest — and most expensive — fuel. We have compiled the results for Cardiff, Swansea and other parts of Wales.

Petrol prices have fallen to their lowest level at the pumps for more than two years. The UK average for a litre of unleaded is 140.03p according to the RAC, which linked the drop to lower wholesale fuel costs.

The fall in prices came after the Competition and Markets Authority warned drivers were not getting a fair deal. The watchdog had said there was "cause for concern" that competition in the fuel market was not working.

Cardiff

The cheapest place to buy petrol in Cardiff is at Asda, Capital Retail Park, Leckwith Road, Canton, where the cost is 135.7p per litre. The city's cheapest place to buy diesel is Asda, Dering Road, Pontprennau, where the cost is 143.7p.

The most expensive place to buy petrol in Cardiff is Morrisons on Newport Road, Penylan, where the cost is 151.7p per litre. This is also the most expensive place to buy diesel, at 159.7p.

Swansea

The cheapest place for both petrol and diesel in Swansea is Sainsbury's Quay Parade, in the city centre, where the cost of petrol is 135.9p and diesel 143.9p.

Swansea's most expensive place for both petrol and diesel is BP Swansea service area, M4 J47, Llangyfelach, where the cost of petrol is 164.9p and diesel 173.9p.

Bridgend

The cheapest place to buy petrol in Bridgend county is Sainsbury's, at the Welsh designer outlet village where the cost is 134.9p. The county's cheapest place for diesel is Applegreen Tremains Service Station in Oldcastle where the cost is 144.9p.

Bridgend county's most expensive place for both petrol and diesel is Esso South Cornelly, where the cost of petrol is 139.9p and diesel 149.9p.

Carmarthenshire

The cheapest place to buy petrol in Carmarthenshire is Asda Murray Street, Tyisha, where the cost is 135.7p. The county's cheapest place for diesel is Tesco Trostre Retail Park Llanelli, Bigyn, where the cost is 143.9p

Carmarthenshire's most expensive place for both petrol and diesel is at Morrisons, Parc Pensarn, Llangunnor, where the cost of petrol is 149.9p and 158.9p.

Wrexham

The cheapest place for both petrol and diesel in Wrexham is Asda Holt Road, Acton and Maesydre, where the cost of petrol is 135.7p and diesel 143.7p.

Wrexham's most expensive place for both petrol and diesel is Shell on Mold Road, Brynyffynnon, where the cost of petrol is 155.9p and diesel 159.9p.
