1. Stargazer Cabin, Monmouth

6. The Deckhouse, Hay-on-Wye

8. The Cabin, Bancyffordd

9. Marriot St Pierre, Monmouthshire

10. Cambrian Escapes, Llandovery

Stay in a dreamy, boutique holiday cottage on a 70-acre private estate near the charming town of Llandovery. The Cambrian Escapes site consists of three detached cottages surrounded by rural Welsh countryside.

Originally a writer's cabin, the book 'The Man Who Made Things out of Trees' saw owner Rob cut down a native ash tree to discover just how many things could be made from it. Inside the shack, there's a cosy sofa for two, nestled by the wood-burning stove and the kitchen has been handbuilt.

12. The Tower, Beaumaris

Why not spoil yourselves with a luxury spa break for two in a 15th-century ancient tower? The tower sleeps two and has access to a private pool, gym, hot tub spa and spectacular grounds.

16. Old Snowdon Ranger Station, Beddgelert

This beautifully restored former ticket office and waiting room is set in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Enjoy an adventurous getaway together and walk up to the summit of the mountain with easy access to the Snowdon Ranger footpath or catch the Welsh Highland steam train to Caernarfon.
